Lost in translation!

During his March 2008 summit with the British Government, French President Nicolas Sarkozy called for a stronger entente amicale ("friendly understanding") between the two nations in a speech before the House of Commons

A couple of years later and French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his lovely wife Carla Bruni are planning a short holiday together.

The evening before their planned departure they are attending an official dinner engagement. British Prime Minister David Cameron’s wife Samantha is sat beside Carla and asks her what she most looks forward to during her forthcoming vacation.

“A penis.” replies Carla. Quite cheerfully and loudly enough for at least half the other dignitaries at the table to hear. A shocked silence follows.

Nicolas Sarkozy leans over to his wife and says: "Ma cherie, I believe in English ze word it is pronounced, 'appiness'!"

I’ve finished tittering now.

For the day anyway.
